Main description
Black light theatre began to develop in Czechoslovakia thanks to the works of Jiří Srnec, the creator of unrivalled shows such as The Magic Circus of the Laterna magika (The Magic Lantern), which gave 6,000 performances under his direction.
The non-verbal performance of Antología brings together the best scenes from more than 50 years of black light theatre history. The audience has a chance to go back to the roots of this genre and experience a “return of magic, re-awakened fantasy and dreams of trading the boards”. The words of a critic at the British daily The Times in 1962, after seeing the performance at Edinburgh’s Theatre Royal.
