Art Restaurant Mánes is located near the Dancing House, on the premises of the Union of Plastic Artists. The view overlooks the Vltava and the opposite bank, the Smíchov district. The trees that line Slavic Island stand just behind the picture windows, and the large room is divided by simple partitions that reinforce the sense of intimacy. The menu is essentially inspired by French cuisine, with a subtle touch borrowed from local traditions: duck confit with chestnut velouté and caramelized walnuts provides a counterpoint to smoked beef tongue served with snails in thyme sauce and mashed potatoes, beet, grattons and pistou sauce. But these hearty creations are counterbalanced by more sober dishes, such as moules marinières or pork cheek with celery purée. The restaurant extends over a multi-storey terrace which, in summer, transforms into a vast restaurant-grill.
