Behind the doors of house number 30, on a small square in front of the German Embassy, is a homely reception area, beautiful antique furniture, dozens of Persian carpets and a warm and friendly master of the house. Welcome to the House at the Great Boot!
This small, family-run hotel is located in the heart of Lesser Town and is in an old Renaissance house that has retained its historic charm, so your stay, too, will be unforgettable.
Each of the 15 rooms on offer is unique not only in its position in the house and the view it offers, but also the atmosphere: you can choose between a view of Vlašská Street, the small garden or the Prague Castle.
Special attention was paid to the room furnishings and decor – 19th century style. Antique doors, beds, side tables, lamps and rugs – all add to the charm, authenticity, and comfort of the hotel. There is no TV or mini bar in the room. A self-service bar is available in the hotel common room.
The uniqueness of this place also lies, among other things, in well preserved historical features. Some rooms feature 19th-century ceramic stoves or even an old wood kitchen stove. Thanks to two unique antique stoves, the house U Velké boty even appears on the list of historical monuments.
All the bathrooms were refurbished and decorated in contemporary style with beautiful wash basins, creating a remarkable harmonious contrast to the rest of the house.
Unrivalled comfort awaits you – floor heating and hot water that actually runs.
Breakfast is served on the ground floor. You will almost want to go in your slippers – that’s how “at home” you’ll feel in this hotel.
A large room in the basement is also available, for example for tarot parties or other special occasions.
In the summer you can enjoy a cup of coffee on the porch as you watch passers-by. In winter, you can use the common room at any time of the day, have a hot drink, read or play games.
