Here’s a restaurant for carnivores. Located two blocks from Wenceslas Square, Kantýna is the latest branch of the Ambiente restaurant chain: a place clearly devoted to meat in all its forms. And it’s fair to say that the Ambiente team have been at it for a long time: matured beef, Přeštice bacon, home-made charcuterie... it’s all part of the trademark. However, Kantýna’s concept is somewhat original: you choose the roasts, potato pancakes and other delicacies directly from the counter, and the staff serve them to you on wooden trays. You only pay when you leave, and according to weight. You can eat standing up, leaning against a long marble table in the main room, or seated at a small table in the back room. As well as the famous table and counter already mentioned, Kantýna also houses an indispensable draught beer tapping machine from which flows a delicious Pilsner Urquell.
