Puppet shows, including the long tradition of handmade wooden figures, are an important part of Czech culture. Unfortunately, because of mass tourism, puppets flooded Prague’s streets bearing the label "Made in China". But you can still find original Czech models at the Marionety Truhlář store. The shop sells the works of 40 puppet-makers, and individual marionettes or puppet sets are hand-carved and painted. In addition, you can buy plaster of Paris puppets and rag doll puppets, recreations of the models created for family home theatres of the 20th century, at favourable prices.
