Mecca club has been around for almost 20 years and plays all kinds of house music. Gradually, the building developed into a three-storey venue with two stages. In 2012, Mecca underwent a reconstruction and now offers a functional, industrial look and a great sound system (the famous Funktion 1). DJs and dancers perform here, and sometimes gay parties take place at Mecca. What’s more, some of the big names of dance music, like Don Diablo, Umek and Hard Rock Sofa, have played there. If you really want to splash out, why not go for the VIP package with the trimmings – a perfect way to celebrate your birthday or New Year’s Eve. NB: Mecca isn’t open daily, and not always on Friday either. So, make sure you check out what’s on before you go! If you’re out of luck and you turn up when it’s closed, you can at least get a sense of the atmosphere from the Mecca website. It features some recording sets by local DJs.
