One of the most successful examples of contemporary architecture in Prague today, the new National Library of Technology (NTK) building opened its doors in 2009. Close to the faculties of the Czech Technical University, the Library is best reached from Dejvická station on metro line A.
The NTK Gallery, also housed in the building, opened at the same time as the Library. It stages exhibitions focusing on the link between contemporary art, science and technology, architecture and a range of student projects, mostly with the involvement of international artists.
The Gallery regularly exhibits projects, including thesis work, from the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University.
The NTK space is a marriage of exposed concrete and large glazed surfaces, which adds to its appeal.
