Citizens of the United Kingdom, the USA, and Canada can travel to countries in the Schengen area for up to 90 days in any 180-day period without a visa. This applies if you travel as a tourist. A valid passport is necessary.
In case of loss or theft of your identity documents during your stay in Prague (identity card, passport, or driver’s license), you should first contact a police station, for example, the one near Wenceslas Square: 9 Jungmannovo Square, Prague 1, tel. +420 974 851 750, which will issue a report of loss or theft of your document. With this report, you must go to the British Embassy Prague or the U. S. Embassy in the Czech Republic, where they will issue you a laissez-passer to return to your country if you no longer have a valid identity document. Please note that this service is subject to a fee.
The laissez-passer, although valid for 30 days, is a one-time travel document: it only allows a return journey to your country.
