Main description
This small town in South Bohemia, dominated by the colorful keep of its castle and crossed by the picturesque Vltava River, is a true gem of urban planning and medieval architecture. Its historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the must-see places in the Czech Republic!
During your walk, let yourself be guided through the narrow streets of the city center where, at the turn of a corner, you will come across architectural treasures such as the Gothic church of St. Vitus and the sumptuous Renaissance town hall.
Your visit to its Gothic castle, dating for the most part from the 16th century, will take you straight back to the dark and magical atmosphere of the Middle Ages. It is one of the most important castles in Europe and is full of painted frescoes of the powerful lords of Rosenberg and original furniture of the Schwarzenberg family.
