This site, where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart completed his opera Don Giovanni, exudes all the atmosphere of classicism. In 1778, Mozart was a guest of the villa's owners, the Dušeks, who were also musicians, shortly before the famous premiere of Don Giovanni at the Estates Theatre. He was to return to the villa once more, in 1791. It was for the villa's owner, Josefina Dušková, that he composed the aria Resta o cara (Stay my beloved), including the recitative Bella mia fiamma, addio (Farewell, my beautiful flame).
Located in the Smíchov district, the villa now belongs to the Mozartova obec v Praze association, which is gradually renovating it. It is now a museum, but also hosts concerts, conferences, symposia and school events.
